Biography

Dr. Charles V. Duss, a Jacksonville native, joined the Atlantic Eye Institute team in July 2007. Dr. Duss received his Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1999.

Dr. Duss returned to Florida to attend medical school.  He attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine.  While attending University of South Florida College of Medicine,  he was inducted into in the AΩA Medical Honor Society. Dr. Duss received his Doctorate of Medicine degree in 2003.

After completing his medical internship at Mount Sinai Hospital of Miami Beac, Charles V. Duss completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He joined the Atlantic Eye Institute after extensive training in cataract, refractive, glaucoma, and plastic surgery techniques.

Today, Jacksonville and St Augustine area residents have benefited from Charles V. Duss’ life changing surgical procedures for LASIK, PRK, Cataracts and Implantable Contact Lenses.

Dr. Charles V. Duss has published research and is active as an investigator in clinical trials.  Dr. Duss is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Refractive Surgery Alliance, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, Florida Medical Association and the Duval County Medical Society.

Dr. Charles V. Duss volunteers his clinical and surgical skills through Vision is Priceless.  As the father of premature twins, Dr. Duss is heavily involved volunteering for the local chapter of the March of Dimes.  One of the primary missions of The March of Dimes to provide helpful information and support to families in the NICU, Newborn Intensive Care Unit, who are affected by prematurity, birth defects, or other infant health problems.
