It has been one year since I had my Lasik surgery. What a wonderful year! I often find myself wondering why I waited so long to have Lasik. Since I had Lasik, it is amazing what I can see now without glasses. I’ll name a few, the clock on my bedside table, the birds and squirrels at the birdfeeder, the golfers in my backyard, and of course the television. I could go on and on. Being over 40 years old, I still had to get reading glasses to see small print, Dr. Duss told me before the surgery that could happen, and I’m fine with that. I would much rather wear glasses only for reading than all day long like I did before Lasik. I would like to thank Dr. Duss and his staff for changing my life!
My experience with Atlantic Eye Institute was nothing short of awesome. Dr Lancaster was very kind and determined to help me correct my vision as best as possible seeing that I do not qualify for surgery. I am terribly near sighted and have battled with it since I was 5 years old. This is the first time I was able to have contact lens in 20 years that fit so good and give me 20/15 vision! It means a lot when a doctor goes above and beyond to help you in any way they can. If you live in Jacksonville there is no other place to go to receive good care and awesome results from the staff and doctors.
I am a 47 year old building engineer. I deal with small electrical panels, air conditioning units, plumbing and a lot of computer and paperwork all day long. I’m constantly having to do close-up work on very small equipment. Having modified Monovision Lasik at Atlantic Eye Institute in Jacksonville has been a blessing. I’m doing my work quicker, easier, and can actually see the equipment I’m working on. (With electricity, that can be a plus…) I’m very satisfied with the outcome and I couldn’t have picked a more professional or confident Dr. office to have Lasik surgery with. Thank you.
“Thanks to a birthday gift from my husband, I had Lasik at Atlantic Eye Institute. After living with “coke bottle” lens glasses and contact lenses for over twenty-five years, the thought of not needing them was incomprehensible. The staff led by Dr. Shmunes helped me realize that it was possible for my vision to be corrected through Lasik surgery. Throughout my pre-surgery examination process, I was well-educated about the Lasik process from start to finish. With all the information I received (and viewing their website) it was very easy to go through the Lasik surgery itself. I am so looking forward to summertime at the waterparks with my children & waking up every morning seeing clearly still amazes me.
