Premium Lens Implants at Atlantic Eye Institute

The surgeons at Atlantic Eye Institute offer the latest lens technology in cataract surgery including the newest aspheric monofocal lens implants as well as the most advanced premium lens implants. Traditional monofocal lens implants correct near or far vision but do not correct presbyopia or significant astigmatism. Recent advances in lens technology allow our surgeons to correct these problems at the same time as your cataract procedure.

The Acrysof® Restor® Lens
The Acrysof® Restor® lens is a breakthrough technology lens which allows patients to see far, near and intermediate distances clearly even without glasses. It is one of the first multifocal lenses to achieve a high level of success; the FDA studies showing approximately 80% of patients with Restor® implants in both eyes gaining independence from glasses. Most patients find that they are able to drive, read a book, use the computer, or play golf without ever reaching for their glasses.

The Acrysof® Restor® lens is not right for everyone. High levels of astigmatism must be treated concurrently for excellent vision after surgery. Common side effects include glare and halo around lights. Ask your Atlantic Eye Surgeon if you may be a good candidate for the Acrysof® Restor®. Click Here to learn more.

The Acrysof® Toric Lens
Many patients suffer not only from blurred vision from cataracts, but also have significant astigmatism which may require glasses or contacts to correct vision even after cataract surgery. The Acrysof® Toric Lens is a revolutionary new lens which allows Atlantic Eye’s surgeons to reliably correct astigmatism at the same time as cataract surgery without doing any additional surgical procedures. This makes them one of the safest and most accurate method for correcting astigmatism, often allowing patients to have excellent vision even without glasses.

Not all patients with astigmatism will require surgical correction. If you have significant astigmatism you may be a candidate to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses after surgery with the Acrysof® Toric Lens implant. Your surgeon at Atlantic Eye Institute will discuss all of your options for correcting astigmatism with cataract surgery, and will help decide which option is right for you.
